The obsession with our weight is definitely one factor that makes us want to weigh ourselves more than often. It is a way of knowing whether we’ve gained that ‘dreaded’ pound or we are just within our perfect weight and fitness dreams. However, the actual process of weighing yourself is never fun and certainly not entertaining. It is a flat process that requires you to simply stand on a scale, most likely naked, looking down at your feet to have a glance of your awaiting weight results – and most times with fingers crossed.
Being such a boring chain of events in any right, one industrial designer, James Stumpf of Stumpf Studio has used his innovativeness to fill and bring elegance to a niche that nobody had ever thought needed some further innovation. He has used his unique and skillful ability to design the Fluidk, which is a sleek state-of-the-art scale that literally fills with an amazing colorful fluid as soon as you step on it. It is a digital weighing scale that is completely made of glass with the fluid acting to indicate the person’s body weight.
According to Stumpf, this revolutionary weight scale is not just for reading weights, but is more entertaining to use. He says.
“There is a compression port and bleed valve in front of the edge of the scale for calibration. The scale is adjustable through the silver dial located on its face, which makes micro height adjustments to the platform. This enables the zeros in the fluid to compensate for fluid expansion or contraction based on the user’s climate and ambient temperature,”
The clear glass on the scales allows users to watch their weight as it is counted either up or down from the previous figure on the scale. This digital and innovative scale is certainly more accurate than the outdated old-school scale with a red arrow that vaguely points at some figures as if to guess your weight.
Fluidk is definitely a modern scale that is turning weighing yourself into a fun game. It ultimately makes stepping on a scale more fun whatever the end results are.
