They say never judge a book by its cover and that’s never been truer that in this case (pun intended).

Ultramodern stuff usually comes in ultramodern packages – If this is the rule you live by, you only need to glance at this story to know it ain’t always true! If first looks are deceiving, then this modified and extremely powerful gaming computer, the brainchild of Dr.Moddnstine (on Imgur) aka Gilmour509 (on Reddit) sure takes it to another level, using an old 1995 IBM Aptiva cabinet to create an illusion that almost has you fooled at first glance.

One look at the front and the sides of this case will tell you that it’s an old and outdated, although extremely well-maintained, piece of equipment that reminds you of the mid-nineties, a time that seems like it was in another galaxy as far as computer performances go!

If you take a look at the back of the case though, you realize that this is no ordinary computer

Here’s a look at the configuration that the machine inside this humble looking machine.

At the heart of this monster is an Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor, while a Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler keeps the heat in check. An Asus MAXIMUS VIII GENE Micro ATX LGA1151 motherboard forms the foundation for it, while a Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 drives its memory.

With a Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5″ Solid State Drive and a Asus Radeon R9 390 8GB as its video card, this is no ordinary machine by any means. Add to all this a Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply and you know this configuration is a gamer’s dream.

Now, to fit all this into a case that is more than a couple of decades old requires a really long list of modifications and this guy pulled out all the stops.

One mod that truly takes the cake though is the Floppy Disk. While you may wonder what a Floppy Disk is doing here when you look more closely it will tell you that it holds an SD Card. So of course the Floppy Disk Drive holds the SD Card Reader!

You simply have to check out all the updates, videos and images Dr. Moddnstine has shared to know just how much work has gone into this creation.
