Meet Samson, the World’s Largest Cat
In the city of New York, there lives an absolutely massive cat that has left many questions on people’s minds and the internet is rightly going gaga. Is it a bear? Is it a bobcat? Is it a dog? No, it’s actually a Maine Coon cat named Samson that has already been declared the largest cat in NYC and is in fact gunning for the “largest cat in the world” record.
Taking into account that the reigning Guinness World Record holder measured 4.04 feet and passed away some three years ago, Samson looks to definitely take the record. He measures 4 feet long and weighs 28 pounds (13 kgs).
The 4-year-old lives with his owner, Jonathan Zurbel, and is quite a character. Even though many people are worried that Samson might be obese and unhealthy, Zurbel quelled these fears by confirming that the Samson is in fine health.
“Samson is not fat or overweight, but a strong sturdy cat. He’s a very sweet, but tough cat that truly fits the gentle giant description. He’s also a very well behaved cat, and of course a dream cat for any cat lover,” Zurbel wrote on Instagram.
Whenever, Zurbel takes Samson for a stroll around Williamsburg in Brooklyn, many passers-by often confuse the giant feline for a dog or a wild cat but hell no, he’s Samson the soon-to-be world’s biggest cat.
