That’s right, forget the game that see the real stars this weekend.

Super Bowl is around the corner. It is that time of the year when almost every soul turns to one of the most important game in America Football season; its ultimate final. But before that, there is the hilarious Puppy Bowl. This is the puppy version of the real Super Bowl, which pits puppies that are between 12 and 20 weeks old against each other in picking the eventual Puppy Bowl MVP.

Already in its twelfth year, the Puppy Bowl is a very engaging puppy event that is hosted and aired on Animal Planet in hours preceding the actual Super Bowl. This event is aimed to promote animal adoption with the support of numerous animal shelters and rescue organizations across the U.S. Apart from the Puppy Bowl show, a host of other animals will also showcase their prowess in various activities. For instance, there will be a funny kitten show at halftime while Meep The Bird will be on show to live tweet every incident of the game, as well as chicken cheerleaders.

In addition to that, there is the Fantasy Puppy Bowl, which is in its third year. This gives animal lovers and fans the opportunity to draft their own Puppy Bowl fantasy team just in the same way it is done in any fantasy football game. In Sunday’s Puppy Bowl XII, 49 puppies will be pitted in Team Fluff and Team Ruff. On the fantasy Puppy Bowl game, you will pick any three talented puppies for your draft. With your puppy draft ready, you will be required to choose which of the two teams (Fluff and Ruff) to represent.

On the scoring, each touchdown by any of your three puppies will give you seven points, 3 points for a field goal, 3 for each steal, and 2 for a tackle. On the other hand, 2 points will be docked for every penalty conceded. While drafting a winning puppy team may depend on absolute luck, Puppy Bowl experts note that choosing smaller dogs and avoiding lazy ones may work in your favor. Try your luck, the Puppy Bowl will be held on Sunday 7th February just before the actual Super Bowl.
