Blizzard Entertainment’s 25 Anniversary
Blizzard Entertainment’s one of the world’s biggest game makers, impressive run entered its 25th year in February earlier this year, and it sure looked like this was one party that just wouldn’t stop.
Of course, there was enough reason. The company has been at the pinnacle of the gaming industry for more than two decades now, and its brilliant offerings from Lost Vikings and Blackthorne in its early days to Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm in recent days have all been hits in the gaming universe….OH! and how could we even forget the World of Warcraft and Diablo lineup!
Well, it makes sense that the 25th anniversary was marked by something monumental, and what could be better than a giant 14 feet tall Arthas statue! So that’s exactly what went down on the Calligraphy Greenway in Taichung, Taiwan when the impressive 4,000-pound statue of one of the most iconic characters of the Blizzard world rose to greet gaming fans.
Along with the statue, Blizzard Entertainment also added a bonus Crimson Hare mount and Mystic Kingdoms Arthas skin to the mix. This was a move that went down in collaboration with NetEase Games.
Beyond the list of titles such as Blackrock Mountain: A Hearthstone Adventure, Diablo: Hellfire and other associated titles, the Starcraft Series, and more, the CEO of Blizzard Entertainment, Mike Morhaime has a promise for the future.
“We have, I think, some of the most talented developers. We’re going to have some really awesome games to play in the future. So once again thank you for showing your support, for continuing to play our games, and we hope to live up to the high expectations that you guys have of us,” Morhaime said.
Well, if that’s a promise that Blizzard manages to keep, we better start getting ready for yet another crazy ride that takes us to the 50th anniversary of the iconic gamin company.
