Mermaid Crowns Will Leave You Shell-Shocked
Chelsea Shiels may not be selling actual sea shells on the seashore but she certainly knows what to do with these shells. Once her creations are complete, they can make a beautiful oceanic mermaid princess out of just about anyone.
Shiels, a florist by profession, says it all began with her quest to hide a scar on her forehead that she’s had since she was a little baby. Getting teased for her scar wasn’t something Shiel could handle well, and to hide the scar from plain sight, began creating her own headwear.
She soon graduated to creating flower crowns and then, it all went on to a completely different level of creativity and beauty with her mermaid tiaras. The highly detailed crowns that Shiels now creates are the result of the coming together of different artful items such as beautiful shells of different shapes, sizes and colors, bling that give her crowns a royal look, and just about anything that adds to the aesthetic angle of her creations.
Initially apprehensive about whether or not her creations would be accepted, Shiels soon found that her crowns were a hit with the crowds. Now, the 27-year-old’s works have a strong online presence through an Etsy store, a website, an Instagram account and a Facebook account through which interested buyers can contact her.
Of course, her works are so admirable that you can spend time simply looking at them and admiring the hard work that has gone into creating such beautiful pieces.
Here are some of her works. Get ready to get dazzled!
So the next time you think of donning the avatar of Princess Ariel, all you have to do is place one of Shiels’ crowns on your head, and voila, your transformation will be complete.
You can check on Chelsea Shiels’ creations via her Instagram or Facebook account, or go to her store on Etsy or her own website to know how you can order one to make you or someone you love feel like a princess!
