When Graphics Tweak Pop Culture Flagbearers

There’s something about kicks that make them an integral part of pop culture. Whether it’s the latest from Air Jordan or the lineups that relate to the most popular niches of pop culture phenomena, sneakers have always been the first of fashion accessories to pick up on the latest trends.

Now, what would it feel like to wear your pop culture icons on your feet. Wouldn’t that be something else! And what if there was some more inspiring artwork created in the process? Even better, right?

Well, that’s what must have gone on in design director and graphic artist JCole’s head when he designed for us the latest in pop culture sneakers, then taking them to his graphics world and creating some impressive artwork to boot.

Taking the most popular footwear of the current times and tweaking them to his own pop culture agenda, this designer has everyone talking. And one look at his works will tell you why!

Here’s some work he’s done on those ever-popular Jordans, in this case the Jumpman 23. Set in solid gold, this one JCole dedicates to his grandfather.

In this one, he takes Pharrell Williams’ Adidas Hu NMDs and weaves a Pikachu out of them.
