Tilt-Shift Versions of Vincent Van Gogh Paintings
It cannot be denied that Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings are as magnificent as they are beautiful. Even though purists are likely to be against this idea, we’re sure that even Van Gogh himself would have been pleasantly entertained by the cool tilt-shifts that have been made to his famous paintings by Reddit user Melonshade.
By introducing a Photoshop gadget to the paintings and somehow blurring their backgrounds, Melonshade magically brings a futuristic perspective to century-old paintings and the results are obviously captivating. Drawing inspiration from a work carried out by Artcyclopedia last summer, Melonshade seems to calculatingly twist angles and viewpoints of these paintings using the modern technique of a tilt-shift app.
In spirit, the tilt-shift technique involves taking miniature photos of the main subject by focusing the camera so close to a given part of the subject. The effects become so strong and make the subject appear in amazing tiny reproductions. While the technique was only for the camera, it has now come into the computer and there’s an app for doing that.
As seen in these Van Gogh’s blurred paintings, this tilt-shift technique makes them real and utterly cool.
