Mercedes Unleashes Two Monster Versions of the AMG GT Roadster
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT possesses a design and performance quotient that few other cars can boast of, and now, ahead of the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the car maker has revealed two new versions of its epic car – the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT C.
“How will a Merc AMG GT look without the roof?”, is a question that has played with the imaginations of car lovers for quite a while now, and the new versions of the Porsche 911 competitor answers that question once and for all, and in style.
With classy good looks that bring in all the aesthetics of modern car design, as well as the build and power to match those stunning looks, the two new variants are taking the road by storm. While the standard GT roadster convertible is in itself a powerful machine, the GT C roadster is even more of a monster on the tarmac.
A three-layer fabric soft roof cover that comfortable retracts in just 11 seconds to give you the feel of the wind and a view of the sky above makes the dream of a GT Roadster finally come true, and add to this the lavish interiors and svelte design, and you sure have a winner on the roads.
The 4.0 liter Turbocharged V8 engine and the AMG Speedshift seven-speed rear-wheel transmission power both variants, with the GT clocking 476 PS and 630 Nm, and the GT C nudging the numbers even higher at 557 PS and 680 Nm. The 100kmph or 62mph mark comes up in as less as 4.0 and 3.7 seconds respectively for the GT and GT C while the top speeds read 300kmph (188mph) and 316kmph (196mph).
All that speed and power demands the right safety features too and Mercedes has a steady lineup on that front too, with an aluminum, steel and magnesium frame with rollover bars and a cross-member helping the cars score high on the safety quotient too.
An announcement on the official price is awaited, although initial estimates peg the prices to hover in the region of £100,000 to £120,000.
