Love the way these guys think.

The fourth generation Mazda MX-5 Levanto is a tribute to the sun, the sea and the beautiful sunsets that make every trip to the coast worthwhile. And while the traveler in us never ceases to be amazed by the beauty of it all, Lapo Elkann’s Garage Italia has given vagabond automobile enthusiasts the power to take these colors wherever they go, all through the unique design they have lent this machine.

Mazda Italia, paying homage to the 1966 documentary Endless Summer, has given the MX-5 Levanto a beautiful dual tone on the exterior, a bright orange that fades away into a calm and serene indigo, and the result is a car that looks like poetry in motion. The wild side is intact too, as is the outlook of the adventurer, and this is made complete by the denim upholstery that the interiors of the car are fitted with.

A lot of work has gone into it all, with the body paint reflecting a natural blend of the two colors of the sun and sea, with no sign of separation between the nautical blue and sunset orange and a closer look reveals how perfect it all is.

As far as the interiors go, the denim upholstery has an orange-colored double stitch, giving the MX-5 Levanto its own unique personality on the inside too. Moreover, the jean finish completely takes over every aspect inside – the seats, the central console, the door panels, the dashboard, the steering wheel, the gear shifter and even the handbrake, all find a denim finish.

The 17-inch alloys lend even more of an edge to the entire look, with the diamond cut offering the car a stance that is quite powerful. Like Mother Nature, it’s a blend of serenity and authority at its best. Under the hood, the 1.5 liter SkyActiv-G engine renders 131 HP to the rear wheels via the six-speed SkyActiv-MT gearbox.

It’s all about paying homage to the story of two surfers who roamed the globe in search of the perfect wave, and what better way to pay tribute to Bruce Brown’s classic than to dedicate a car to the La Spezia region in Italy, renowned as the birthplace of surfing in the country.

The Mazda MX-5 Levanto – this one’s a stunner all the way!
