A Grain Silo Can Make a Beautiful Home Too!
Take a trip into the farmlands and countryside of North America and you will come across a landscape that’s littered with abandoned grain silos. Well, what if you could put it to some use? Maybe, to store something other than grain? Or, maybe even make something else out of it? Hold that thought.
Now, imagine an ultra-modern cozy 340 square foot home for two, with ravishing interiors and all the facilities a couple needs to call their home a complete one.
Then, imagine the two together!
Architect Christopher Kaiser probably did just that when he thought of completely revamping a 1950s grain silo into a home that spells affordable luxury. And with a negligible carbon footprint, not only does this innovative home go easy on the pocket but it also goes easy on the environment too.
This grain silo turned home is located in Phoenix, Arizona, and gives hope to all those abandoned silos lying around, and of course, as modern architecture has shown us,these could very well be a future home for some of us.
