Popular Street Foods – Thermal Vision Edition
Who doesn’t love some good old street food. And who doesn’t love incredible art. So it’s actually not surprising that a mind-blowing photo series of various street foods as they appear through the lens of a thermal camera.
This is the creation of Brea Souders, a talented New York-based artist, who shows the images of American street food being served to hungry food lovers on VSCO. The images showcase a handful of typical American dishes such as pizza and ice cream as they appear when photographed using a state-of-the-art radiometric thermal camera, which basically detects the objects’ infrared radiation.
In other words, the camera displays the amount of radiation that the objects emit as their temperatures fluctuate. The camera achieves this by showing differing levels of heat using various colors.
The outcome is not just cool and special, but also creates images that look like nuveau pop art. Take a look and feed your eyes.
