This Could Save Audi a Fortune In Marketing Costs

Cameras never lie, or so they say. However, Felix Hernandez’s camera is literally lying through its teeth to produce these impossibly realistic photos. That’s because he was commissioned by Audi to create a set of photos for their new Audi R8 sports car and he did an overly marvelous job.

Now that R8 is probably one of the best coolest cars on the market today, it seems like Audi felt like doing something different. So they chose a talented photographer who is used to shooting subjects in a totally different way and he absolutely didn’t disappoint.

With a hefty price of around $200,000, we presume that Audi spends a fortune in marketing the R8 taking into account the loads of camera equipment, hundreds of crew and millions required to do a proper photo shoot to highlight this amazing machine. But on this instance surprisingly, Hernandez only had to use a $40 replica toy car to achieve what amounts to a con job, and boy did he ever do it amazingly right.

You’d think that the Mexican photographer would have had to involve a tonne of Photoshoping to get everything just right, but he didn’t! Everything was done with the miniature toy including clever props, lighting effects and careful camera angles just as it would have been done on a real car.

To the final photo results of Hernandez’s miniature toy photographs are almost too real. See for yourself.
