China’s Coiling Dragon Cliff is Terrifying

China is known for its obsession with some of the most terrifying over the edge spots, but this newest skywalk glass is probably the most terrifying one yet.

Dubbed the “Coiling Dragon Cliff,” this dreadfully high glass-bottom skywalk was recently unveiled on the side of a winding cliff on the mountainous landscapes of southern China. The walkway stretches around the vertical cliffs of Tianmen Mountain and has already welcomed thrill-seeking visitors to take on the dizzying heights.

Measuring about 100 meters long, the 5 feet wide footpath is surely not for the faint-hearted, but provides a once-in-a-lifetime clear view of the plummeting valley. It also overlooks the creepy Tongtian Avenue, an infamous mountain road known for its 99 turns as it snakes up the mountain.

Being the third such walkway to open on the mountain, the Coiling Dragon Cliff sits about 4,600ft above sea level and photographs show many visitors avoiding looking down through the transparent glass-bottomed walkway. It’s obviously scary-but-breathtaking to sample life on such an edge and in the surrounding of marvelous natural scenery.
