A Brilliant Way of Using Your iPhone

Just when we thought we’d discovered everything that could be done with an iPhone, French artist Francois Dourlen has shown us that this modern gadget can still do more.

Dourlen, who teaches History by the day, has created a series of uproarious images that superbly align iconic film, TV and cartoon characters with real life scenes from all over the world. Using his iPhone, Dourlen seamlessly lines up a host of pop culture characters by showing how they’d turn up in the real world.

The extremely creative artist gives most of these characters hilarious twists before assembling the images on his Instagram that has so far amassed more than 100k followers.

Dourlen impeccably inserts characters like Patrick from SpongeBob Squarepants into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as pulling amazing screenshots from films like Ted, Up, The Lion King and inserting them on everyday scenes. He also assimilates Jack and Rose sailing on a new Titanic, but this time it’s on land.

Coincidentally, Dourlen began this interesting project as a joke.

“The original picture was a joke for my friends. They liked it, so I did another and before long it became huge,” he said.

“As you can see, many scenes, situations and locations in real life makes me think of iconic movies, series and cartoons, so I do my research and find a specific image for every specific spot or situation,” he added.

We love it when creativity and technology meld together.
