‘80s Movies Re-Imagined with Modern Day Trends
The 1980’s were arguably some of the most glorious times for Hollywood, most have fond memories of the ‘80s movies and TV shows and so does UK-based illustrator and graphics designer, Tom Ward.
This skillful artist combined his graphic designs skills, love for 1980’s classic films and imagination to re-imagine the ‘80s movies in present-day settings. Just as you might have wondered, Tom imagined what kind of modern-day duties would RoboCop might have, the type of activities that He-Man would have done during his free time or the way E.T. would have looked like if he was to visit the Earth in 2016.
So he proceeded to create a clever series titled ‘80s Reloaded in which he depicts movie and TV show characters using 21st century technologies, such as Segways, and immerses them in modern trends such as selfies.
“My fond memories for the ‘80s movies and TV programs made me come up with this silly, but amazing idea of putting characters from 30 years ago in situations they might find themselves in the modern-day world,” the artist said.
The way Tom gives characters from The A-Team, Short Circuit, Back to the Future and The Karate Kid a modern makeover is absolutely cool and brings back the awesome ‘80s nostalgia.
